40th Anniversary Celebration
This year was a very special one for our association: we celebrated our 40th anniversary with several events, that highlighted our anniversary. We went to visit Cassis, organised a big party in Serres and concluded our festivities with an after-feast in Carpentras. Scroll down to see the details!
Excursion to Cassis
“Qu'a vist Paris e noun Cassis, a rèn vist” (Those who have seen Paris but not Cassis have seen nothing)! These words by Frédéric Mistral (1830–1914) perfectly capture the tremendous appeal that Cassis holds for all visitors, and they also motivated us to organize this trip to Cassis. Cassis was a small fishing port, nestled between two exceptional natural sites (the famous Calanques massif and the majestic Cap Canaille), offering visitors a taste of Provence and the Mediterranean. Today, of course, Cassis is a renowned tourist attraction.
We took a bus to visit the town, had lunch, and during a boat trip, a guide explained the three calanques of Cassis to us. It was an exceptional day, and we were sad to leave this wonderful place.

Our big party in Serres
This celebration attracted many participants. On September 4, 2025, in the large hall of the “Salle des Fêtes” in Serres, we gathered to hear and talk about encounters and memories from four decades, enjoying French and British specialties, with music, dancing, and singing to toast the past, present, and future of our association.

The history of the association was presented on around a hundred panels displayed in the party room; some of these panels are shown below.

The ASSOCIATION SUD TV LOCALE visited us during the celebration and documented their impressions in a video that is available on their website. This video was made by Serge Mayet, who presented it to us as an anniversary gift.

And another party
A second party was held to celebrate our anniversary! On Friday, November 7, 2025, starting at 3 p.m., we enjoyed an afternoon of dancing, singing, and good cheer. The MJC kindly provided us with a room for this celebration. Food and appetizers from our members' countries were shared in a varied buffet. The invitation sent out before the event gives you a good impression of the event.
