General Assembly Meeting 2024

The General Assembly Meeting 2024 of the ASSOCIATION CULTURELLE FRANCO-BRITANNIQUE DU COMTAT VENAISSIN took place on Monday 21th October 2024 in the chateau de la Roseraie followed by an apéro followed by a variety show presented by some of our members. The General Assembly Meeting had a record number of attendees - 40 in all, plus many proxies. A big thank you to all those who attended or sent in their proxies, thereby showing their interest in the running of the association. It is very encouraging for the committee to have such a large turnout. After the formalities of the meeting, the attendees were invited to an apéro and a special evening of entertainment organized by Monique d’Hooghe, Anne-Mie and Alain Devos. Members enjoyed humorous sketches presented by Michèle Gallichio & Geneviève Casy, John Elmhirst, and the very popular duo Skinner & d’Hooghe who presented a new production The Two Pastors - a mime sketch with special sound effects provided by Patricia Gay Fauquet and John Elmhirst. The evening was rounded off with a display of Scottish dancing. Photos of the dancing are now on the website. Everyone was invited to join in the last dance. It was a memorable and enjoyable evening. Shortly after the AGM the local papers, La Provence and Vaucluse Matin, wrote glowing reports about our association and this led to a complimentary letter from Catherine Rimbert, the Deputy for the Vaucluse's fifth constituency. She warmly praised the recent growth of the association and the numerous activities offered. Thanks again to all those who attended and to those who helped with the organization of the AGM.

General Assembly Meeting 2023

The Annual General Meeting 2023 took place on Monday, October 16th, 2023, at the Château de la Roseraie.

Sur convocation écrite, l'Assemblée Générale de l'Association Culturelle Franco-Britannique du Comtat Venaissin s’est tenue le lundi 16 octobre 2023 à 17.30 à La Roseraie à Carpentras, sous la présidence de Mme Marie-Jacqueline BALLAGH. 22 des 64 membres étaient présents et 14 procurations ont été reçues.

À 17h .30 Marie-Jacqueline Ballagh, Présidente, ouvre la réunion et souhaite la bienvenue à tous et a remercié les adhérents d’être présents. Elle a annoncé qu’un verre d’amitié serait offert après la réunion suivi d’un court sketch en anglais.

Ensuite la Présidente a présenté le rapport moral, organisé en 3 parties:

• bilan des diverses activités hebdomadaires,
• bilan des sorties mensuelles et activités proposées au cours de l’année, et
• événements à venir.

Une présentation PowerPoint en anglais et en français a été utilisé etl a Présidente a donné des précisions dans les deux langues. Le premier cliché représente la diversité des activités de l’association au courant de l’année. La Présidente a indiqué que l’association continue à être très dynamique et que par ses diverses actions elle continue à aider les nouveaux venus à s'installer dans la région et à se faire de nouveaux amis, ainsi l’association continue à remplir l'un de ses principaux objectifs, tel qu'inscrits dans les Statuts. Elle a précisé que par le biais des réunions hebdomadaires et mensuelles, l’association fournissait un tissu de relations chaleureuses d’entraide. De nouveaux membres ont été accueillis tout au long de l’année.

General Assembly Meeting 2022

The General Assembly Meeting (AGM) 2022 of the "ASSOCIATION CULTURELLE FRANCO-BRITANNIQUE DU COMTAT VENAISSIN" has taken place on Monday October 17th, 2022 at 6 pm in the chateau de la Roseraie. All members of our Association were invited to attend this Annual General Meeting.

The AGM is not only an administrative obligation, it also gives all members the opportunity to meet, and as well to make suggestions and help shape the association. Moreover, we were happy to welcome new members to the committee of the Association. Do not hesitate to let us know if you would like to participate in the committee.
